Thinc’s Tourism team has been engaged by the South Australian Government to project manage its redevelopment of the Adelaide Convention Centre, having formed part of the consortium that delivered the previous extension to the complex in 2001. The project will be delivered in two stages to enable the centre to remain operational throughout the works. In addition to the works on the centre itself, our team will be required to manage a number of complex issues, including how the redevelopment will intersect with the broader Riverbank Precinct Masterplan. Our team will also be coordinating with TransAdelaide to mitigate risks associated with the rail corridor over which we will be building. The project encompasses an early works package to relocate existing cooling towers on the site and a new extension to the west of the centre. When this is operational the existing plenary building will be demolished and a new building constructed. The team’s collaborative approach and ability to negotiate the complex demands of multiple stakeholders will have a major impact on the project’s successful completion.
