The Australian Rail Track Corporation – South Sydney Freight Line (ARTC SSFL) project involves the $900M construction of a dedicated freight line in south-west Sydney. The project will improve the efficiency of freight services in and out of Sydney and release additional capacity on the existing RailCorp metropolitan passenger network. Thinc Projects has been involved in project managing some key changes to the way this project has been approached, including transferring construct-only contracts ($50M and $100M) to alliance style contracts for two of the main contractors, including negotiation. Additionally, Thinc Projects undertook alliance transaction management, contract development and negotiation as well as contractor mobilisation. This project demonstrates our skill managing key elements of a major project that requires strategic advice on delivery and procurement methods.
