Brisbane City Hall Restoration

Thinc’s State and Local Government team was engaged as project manager of the restoration of Brisbane City Hall. A high profile and complex project, our team has responsibility for all aspects of the building’s refurbishment. The project involves the restoration of heritage elements that have fallen into disrepair and the transformation of the building into a state-of-the-art performance and function space. When complete, the building is also intended to provide a world-class example of sustainability in a high profile and much-used public facility. Our team’s capacity for skilled collaboration with our client and stakeholders will be the key to achieving a successful outcome on this project, as will our expertise in managing the probity issues that arise on projects of this nature. Our team will also assume responsibility for managing the design process to ensure the refurbished building design rectifies current noncompliance issues, while retaining the integrity of the heritage framework and meeting BCC’s functional brief. We are also adopting an innovative procurement method to ensure contractor input is obtained during the design process to provide ‘constructability’ input and to ensure construction risk is mitigated and priced to ensure value for money is achieved on behalf of our client.
