Our Aged Care team has been engaged by our client – Masonic Care Queensland – to masterplan and redevelop a 500-bed aged care complex at their flagship site in Sandgate. This project is intended to showcase modern aged care design, providing home-like facilities that accord with an ageing-on-campus model of care and reflect ESD principles. Given the ambition of this project, our team conducted a peer review to verify the validity of the design approach that had been taken. As a result of the review, we recommend a number of strategic changes to improve outcomes for our client. We then achieved an amendment to the development approval and implemented a new design that reflects contemporary aged care principles.
