RAAF Darwin Redevelopment

RAAF Darwin Redevelopment

Our team was engaged by the Department of Defence to perform the combined role of project manager/contract administrator (PM/CA) and principal consultant for the RAAF Base Darwin Redevelopment Stage 2. Our team was responsible for preparing the detailed business case to be submitted to the Defence Infrastructure Sub-Committee for approval prior to submission for PWC approval. This combined role required the engagement of a complete design team and the management of the consultation and design process, the preparation of the design brief through performance requirements brief, the functional design brief, and final planning phase design report for the works (with supporting schematic level design and cost estimation at a ±10% cost accuracy). The out-turn value of the project was approximately $60m and included significant fuel farm and delivery works, airfield lighting and movement area guidance signs, workshops for fuel and airfield vehicles, warehouses, working accommodation and physical fitness facilities.
